It seems a lot of Internet marketers-and even some so-called “gurus”-just don’t get it. There is constant buzz about SEO copyrighting, but a lot of it is just plain off target!
Most of the posts, articles and discussions deal with such things as allowable limits, keyword density, over-optimization and so on. They make SEO copywriting all about the search engines. In other words, they put the emphasis on the first part of the term-SEO-and forget about the second part of the term-copywriting.
What SEO copywriting means is that you are writing copy designed to cause a human being to take some kind of action. Your site visitors or target audience should come first and the tricks used to rank the copy well in the search engines should come dead last. What good is traffic if the copy doesn’t convert site visitors into buyers? Obviously, not a whole lot, and that’s why the human visitors should always come first.
Putting too much emphasis on SEO can cause what is being cranked out to become boring, repetitive, monotonous babble. Such writing would never make it onto a site, save for the fact that the webmaster simply wanted to rank for certain terms.
